The iPad point of sale app Shopbox is now available on Windows 10, thanks to a new partnership with Microsoft and HP. A €300,000 investment on behalf of the partners has allowed Shopbox to develop a Windows version of its reliable and fast all-in-one app, which gives small businesses more flexibility when it comes to their store’s counter.

Shopbox’s POS is not just for small businesses. The company’s focus on increasing transaction speed and improving ease of use means the app is ideal for anyone who wants to achieve higher customer and employee satisfaction. Whether a coffee shop, a restaurant, or an arena, the Shopbox POS ensures customers are served quickly and efficiently so they can enjoy their dining or entertainment experience. Transaction speed has been shown to increase by 25% with Shopbox.

Our customers are very focused on the speed of the entire transaction, and we knew that Microsoft are experts in this. This is exactly why this partnership is very interesting to us, since the combination of our modern software and their solid and reliable technology provided the fundamentals to create a world-class app.

— Christian Zigler, founder & CEO of Shopbox

The partnership between Microsoft, HP, and Shopbox gives business owners a new option when choosing a POS for their store. In addition to being the most popular operating system used by enterprises, Windows can now function as a shop’s counter. Shopbox’s cross-platform functionality will also be easier to access for those who prefer to conduct business on devices running Windows.

We see an enormous strength in this cooperation. By combining Shopbox’s innovation with the trustworthy Microsoft platform and HP’s hardware and support, we can offer a complete solution to any retailer.

— Klas Hammar, responsible for Windows 10 at Microsoft Sweden

News of this key collaboration comes on the heels of Shopbox’s announcement of an investment by Tommy Jacobson of Zenith Ventures and the company’s expansion into Sweden. The first big Swedish customer has already been testing the new Windows version since early January.

Shopbox has the right software, HP the right hardware. That’s a partnership that we believe in.

— Stefan Bergdahl, CEO of HP Sweden

Shopbox is currently live on more than 400 terminals and hopes the expansion to Windows will help grow its reach in both Denmark and Sweden. For now it will keep cutting waiting times, one queue at a time.
