At Shopbox, we are always committed to providing the best solutions for our customers. Therefore we are pleased to introduce important updates to the Shopbox POS system that will soon take effect. These changes both align with the latest SAF-T regulations, and are designed to streamline your daily operations. Keep reading to get all the details about what's changing and how they will impact your business.

What do the new SAF-T regulations mean for your business?

With the new SAF-T regulations, there are some key changes, you need to be aware of:

Cash Drawer Logging

One of the most significant changes is the requirement to log every instance of the cash drawer opening. This means the cash drawer must be connected to the POS system via the printer. Previously, it was only necessary to log when the POS system opened the drawer, but now every instance of the drawer being opened must be recorded.

Consistent sequence numbers

Transaction sequence numbers must now be continuous across all registers. This requires an updated structure to ensure that all transactions follow a consistent and correct order. This change enhances traceability and ensures compliance with legal requirements.

What's new in Shopbox POS?

To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve introduced several new features in Shopbox POS.

Cashdrawer connectivity

Shopbox POS will now automatically notify you if the cash drawer is connected and alert you if it is not. This ensures you remain compliant with the new logging requirements.

Online requirement for register devices

To confirm opening balances and float money at the start of the day, the register device (iPad, iPhone, or Windows PC) must now be online. This guarantees that all data is synchronized accurately and in real time.

Transaction grouping by device

Going forward, transactions will be grouped by register unit, rather than by register. Previously, multiple devices could log into the same register, with reconciliation done on a single device. Now, each device must be reconciled individually, ensuring more accurate sales records.
