At Shopbox, we are always at the forefront of providing the best solutions for our customers. That's why we're excited to introduce some important updates to the Shopbox POS system that will take effect soon. These changes comply with the latest SAF-T regulations and are designed to make your everyday life even easier. Read on for all the details on what's changing and how it will affect your daily operations.
With the new SAF-T regulations, there are a few important changes you need to be aware of:
One of the biggest changes is the requirement always to log whether the cash drawer is open. The cash drawer must be connected to the POS system via the printer. Previously, it was only necessary to log when the POS system opened the drawer, but now every opening must be recorded.
The sequence numbers for transactions must now be consistent for all tills. This means an updated structure that ensures all transactions follow a consistent and correct order. This change helps improve traceability and regulatory compliance.
To make the transition as smooth as possible, we've also introduced some new features in Shopbox POS.
Shopbox POS will now automatically tell you if the cash drawer is connected and warn you if it's not connected. This ensures that you are always compliant with the new logging requirements.
To confirm morning stock and change at the start of the day, the cash register device (iPad, iPhone, or Windows PC) must now be online. This ensures that all data is synchronized correctly and in real-time.
In the future, transactions will be grouped per checkout device and not per checkout. Previously, you could log in with multiple devices on the same checkout and just reconcile the checkout on one device. Now, each unit must be reconciled individually, resulting in a more accurate registration of sales.
To ensure a smooth transition to the new features and regulations, all users should update their Shopbox POS app. This will ensure that you have the latest features and are fully compliant with the new requirements.
